Power facilities under attack in the region
The country's energy systems have come under escalating strikes in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused power cuts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were wounded while local people in the city's east were left without electricity and dealt with interruptions to water systems, according to local authorities.

At the same time, a seven-year-old child was killed in a different aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, based on information from local officials.

Russian forces has escalated attacks on energy facilities over the past few days, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "substantial measures" from partner nations to exert influence on Russia.

"What is required is not window dressing but decisive action - from the America, European nations and the major economies - in delivering defensive weapons and implementing restrictions," was stated in a social media post.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 projectiles struck energy facilities, characterizing such attacks as "premeditated" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and technical staff were laboring to fix the damage.

A series of attacks struck energy infrastructure and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the assaults on the city have been transported for medical care, according to local officials.

Area administrators said the city came under significant strikes overnight. A seven-year-old child was killed and multiple civilians were wounded.

The strikes come after evenings of bombing campaigns in the territory, portions of which remain under the control of Moscow's military.

The whole nation is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are more difficult to detect.

Government officials told the media that Moscow was deliberately attempting to destroy the national power system, with strikes already affecting energy systems.

He said technical personnel and officials were bracing for additional strikes.
